Hexagon’s Absolute Scanner AS1-XL designed for extra-large surface measurement.

Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division released its Absolute Scanner AS1-XL, a modular 3D laser scanner designed for large surface inspection, for use with both its laser tracker and portable measuring arm devices. The scanner features SHINE technology, which allows it to digitize almost any material, the company says, including multiple surface types and colour finishes. The AS1-XL is also capable of a scan line of 600mm at mid-range and an 1.2 million points per second acquisition rate and 300 Hertz frame rate. The scanner also features an extended measurement stand-off distance of 700MM. Paired with its 600mm working range, its stand-off distance allows for hidden point measurement capability of up to a metre. The scanner is compatible with Hexagon’s Leica Absolute Tracker AT960 and Absolute Arm 7-Axis.
